A little about me…

I love to camp, fish (but I am not a fan of touching the fish, although I do), play board and card games, craft and spend time with my family. I could go on for days telling you all the things that I enjoy doing, but I believe you are here to find out what makes me qualified to be your photographer, graphic designer, sign creator, or other item that brought you to this page, so let’s get into that.

I have had a love for photography since a young age. I enjoy the art of capturing memories of important events and places in not only my life, but in others as well. In 2012, I was presented with the opportunity to work for a well known photography business and I jumped at the chance. It helped me understand the business side of my craft, and drove me to start thinking about owning my own business one day. It taught me every customer has different needs and to do everything possible to make them happy.

My love for Graphic Design came a little unexpectedly. I was a senior in high school with some open time in my schedule. I took a graphic design class because I thought it would be fun. I am glad I did! I learned what Graphic Design was all about and thought it would be a great idea to combine my two crafts into one business. So after graduation, I attended college at Pittsburgh Technical Institute (now Pittsburgh Technical College). I majored in Graphic Design and took some side classes for photography.

After graduation, I worked for a couple of sign shops learning the hands on tricks of the trade that you just can’t learn in a classroom. Meanwhile, I was slowly building up my own equipment so I could one day have my own business. In November of 2018, I started Heather’s Design and Photography.
